Founded in 2017, MAIA Contemporary Gallery is located in Mexico City. 

 

The gallery showcases the work of both established and emerging artists. Coming from prestigious academic backgrounds and self-taught talents, we aim to create immersive experiences in our main space, pop-up locations, and public spaces worldwide, fostering dialogue and interaction between the audience and the artworks. Our mission is to present a diverse range of ideas and artistic practices in experiences that are provocative and engaging. 

 

Our main gallery is in the heart of the vibrant Roma neighborhood, Mexico City, housed within a 19th-century “Porfirian” mansion. Our space spans 4,000 square feet and is divided into three main rooms. We offer an annual program that mixes both well-known local and international artists as well as outstanding young talents who challenge conventional norms.

 

Our curatorial approach emphasizes presenting bold and original shows. We seek to showcase exhibitions that explore ontological themes, encouraging the audience to think critically about the current state of humanity and our relationship with Nature. We believe Art is a tool for transformation, and through creative inspiration, we can discover the solutions needed to take meaningful action for our planet.
